One percentage, one bill

The tip is the entered bill multiplied by the chosen percentage divided by 100. A bill of 200 with a 10% tip adds 20, making a combined total of 220. Splitting that total among four people gives 55 each. The calculation is currency-independent; it does not convert currencies or decide which tip percentage is appropriate.

Check what is already on the receipt

A service charge, tax, or delivery fee may already be included in a bill. This calculator does not identify or remove those amounts. Enter the base you actually want to use for your chosen percentage, and check the receipt before adding another charge. The percentage is an input you control, not a recommendation.

An equal split may need a rounding adjustment

The full calculation is kept before display, but money amounts are shown to two decimal places. If the total cannot be divided evenly into the smallest currency unit, multiplying the rounded per-person amount may differ from the bill by a few cents or pesewas. Assign that small difference explicitly rather than assuming the rounded shares will always add up exactly. This tool does not handle unequal orders or individual payments.

Good questions.

Can I use Ghana cedis?

Yes. Use the same currency throughout. The calculator does not apply an exchange rate.

Does it add tax?

No. It uses exactly the bill amount you enter, then adds the tip.

Why can the rounded shares differ from the total?

Some totals cannot be divided evenly into two-decimal currency amounts. Adjust the small remainder when paying.
