Small local utilities for passwords and digests

Generate a fresh random password or compute a SHA-256 digest for exact text or file contents.

A utility should be clear about what it does and what it cannot establish. The password generator uses secure browser randomness and keeps no history. The SHA-256 tool computes a content digest locally. Neither replaces account permissions, a trusted password manager, signed software distribution, or an application security design.

Treat copied secrets carefully

A copied password enters the system clipboard. Other applications and clipboard history may retain it, even though Daykit does not save a copy. Keep the device and destination appropriate for a secret.

Trust the reference, not only the match

A matching file digest is useful only when the expected value comes from a trustworthy source. If a source can replace both a file and its listed digest, the match does not prove authenticity.
