CSV to JSON converter
Turn a small CSV table into a JSON array. Choose your delimiter and decide whether the first row contains column names.

CSV often means comma-separated values, but a file exported by a spreadsheet can use semicolons or tabs. A comma inside a quoted field belongs to that field. A doubled quote inside a quoted field represents one literal quote. The parser supports quoted line breaks and common Windows or Unix row endings; it does not split every comma blindly.
Headers become property names
With headers enabled, the first row is trimmed and used as object keys. Every header must be present and unique. Every following row must have the same number of fields. Without headers, each row becomes an array. Values stay strings: 0012 remains "0012", which protects leading zeroes in codes, and a date is not silently reinterpreted according to a locale.
Review the data model before importing
CSV describes a flat table. It cannot on its own explain nested objects, units, missing values, or whether an empty field means unknown or intentionally blank. This converter keeps empty fields as empty strings and reports inconsistent row widths. It does not clean or deduplicate the table. The input limit is one million characters. Open the exported JSON and confirm its structure before using it in another system.
Worked examples
| CSV | Headers | JSON shape |
|---|---|---|
| name,code / Ama,0012 | Enabled | [{"name":"Ama","code":"0012"}] |
| red,blue | Disabled | [["red","blue"]] |
Good questions.
Why are numbers quoted?
Every CSV field remains a string so codes, leading zeroes, and date-like values are not changed accidentally.
Can cells contain commas or new lines?
Yes, when the field is enclosed in double quotes and any literal quote is doubled.
Will it ignore a row with missing columns?
No. It reports the inconsistent row so you can correct the source instead of silently dropping data.
